Northern Plains Indian culture is steeped in traditions that reflect the power and beauty of their people and tell the story of their relationship to all of creation.

They practice a culture that is rich in values and traditions. Their way of life is very spiritual and marked by a deep respect for nature.

Their cosmological view is marked by the sanctity of all creation and it is their worldview is that every plant, animal, and human being is sacred. Likewise, the Lakota people’s philosophy is characterized by the interconnectivity of things. Life consists of parts that are pieces of a greater whole, which forms the grand scheme of the universe.
