Would you like to be part of our team at the Aktá Lakota Museum? We are looking for team members who are interested in learning new skills, gaining hands-on experience, and contributing to a unique working museum environment.

As a Seasonal Museum Associate, you will assist in the Museum’s day-to-day operations. These non-exempt positions offer a flexible schedule between May – October, a competitive salary, and require working some weekends and holidays. There are positions available for individuals looking for full-season work as well as for students on summer break. Dress Code is required.

Job Accountability:
The Museum Associates report to the Museum Store Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Welcome visitors, conduct tours, and provide information about the museum, St. Joseph’s Indian School, and its outreach programs.
  • Help customers with purchases in the gift shop and follow cash handling procedures.
  • Assist with Educational Programs.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of daily museum activities.

Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, candidates should possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an outgoing personality that is ideal for public relations. Applicants need to enjoy working with the public.
