Tripadvisor recently named The Aktá Lakota Museum & Cultural Center a 2022 Travelers’ Choice Award Winner. The award celebrates businesses that have received great traveler reviews from visitors from around the globe on Tripadvisor over the past 12 months.
“Winning the Tripadvisor Travelers’ Choice Award is a true source of pride for the entire organization, and we’d like to thank all of our visitors who took the time to complete a review on Tripadvisor,” said Museum Director Dixie Thompson. This is the museum’s second time on the prestigious list, the first time being in 2020.

The Aktá Lakota Museum & Cultural Center is located on the campus of St. Joseph’s Indian in Chamberlain. It offers visitors a living lesson on the American Indian way of life, both past and present. The museum is open year-round, and admission is free!
